The History of the Half Marathon of Alicante is strongly linked to the Montemar Athletic Club. Not surprisingly, it was the Montemar Athletic Club who created and organized the first eight editions of the Alicante Half Marathon (1981-1988).

The 1st Half Marathon of Alicante was celebrated on the occasion of the commemoration of the Golden Marriages of the Montemar Athletic Club (April 5, 1981), and 41 years later the Alicante Half Marathon and the Montemar Athletic Club meet again thanks to the Management of the Department of Sports of Alicante to organize the next year 2024 edition.

It is the intention of all the entities involved in the Alicante Half Marathon, that this event is part of the history of the sport of Alicante. To this end, a research project has been developed where we can confirm that the 2024 edition will be the 27th edition of the Alicante Half Marathon. Unfortunately for our sport, from 1981 to today, there were several years where, for whatever reasons, the Alicante Half Marathon was not held. We enclose detailed information of the winners of each year of the Half Marathon of Alicante.

To the already mentioned organization of the Club Atlético Montemar, several aspects should be highlighted that will surely make the AGUAS DE ALICANTE International Half Marathon a great benchmark for sport in general and athletics in particular:

• TRAVEL COMPOSED BY A CIRCUIT OF 21KM ONLY ONE RETURN.
• TOUR APPROVED BY THE REAL SPANISH FEDERATION OF ATHLETICS.
• OFFICIAL TEST INCLUDED IN THE CALENDAR OF THE SPANISH ATHLETICS FEDERATION.
• OUTPUT AND GOAL OF THE HALF MARATHON and 10K: SPRING OF LEVANTE
• SIMULTANEOUS DEPARTURE OF THE HALF MARATHON AND THE 10K.
• REGISTRATION OPENING: JULY 1ST, 2023.
